IT’S TIME TO GET CONNECTED…
First and foremost, our church exists to connect people to Jesus.
Jesus spent lots of time with people. At times, he gathered with thousands upon thousands of people. Most of his time, however, was spent with a smaller group of people that he called his disciples; a group that might have numbered in the hundreds. But still, He traveled with an even smaller group of twelve followers who later became known as apostles. Within that group of twelve there were three with whom he seemed to have an even deeper relationship. And, many believe that he had the deepest relationship of all with one of the three.
The moral of the story is: you can’t “do” Christianity alone…and you can’t do it very well by only hanging out in the crowd.
So, this is our process (It may not be perfect, but give it a shot):
1. Meet New People
2. Get in a Group
3. Serve Others
4. Become a Member
1. MEET NEW PEOPLE
We have a few different ways for new people to start getting to know the other people of OCFJAX…Many of them involve food :)
SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP SERVICE
I guess this is a little obvious, but our weekly service is where we all gather to worship Jesus. It’s also a great time to meet the people of OCF. Just come and check it out. 10AM Sunday childcare is provided. Directions
5th SUNDAY COVERED-DISH LUNCH
Every time there is a 5th Sunday in a month (Next: 10/29/17), everyone is welcome to stay after service and participate in a covered-dish meal. We talk about these a good amount whenever they are about to happen. So, don’t worry, you won’t forget.
SIMPLY SUPPER NIGHTS
Simply Supper Nights are nights where we spend time in each others homes simply eating dinner together. These are designed for us to meet and get to know other people at OCF. They are not exclusively for new people, but definitely a good place to start making deeper connections with others.

2. GET IN A GROUP
Groups are an important part of OCF. We offer different types of smaller groups (smaller than our Sunday morning worship service) so that people can join up with others in a more personal setting to seek God together. These groups meet at different times and places to worship together, study together, pray together and, in most cases, to eat together. Sometimes they just meet to hang out together. Groups are one of the prime starting points to getting connected here at OCF.
Smaller Groups of men, women, married couples, single adults, old people, middle aged people, young adults, youth, children, families and pets (just kidding) that meet together regularly. Each group functions slightly differently, but there is definitely a group for you. Click below to visit our small groups page and get in a group!

3. SERVE OTHERS
All who follow Christ are “servants.” Jesus said, “the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve”. We believe that in order to follow God we must also serve others. Serving others is also a great way to get to know other people at OCF. We have also learned that a person who is serving will also become much more connected to the life of the church.
CLICK HERE to see our “serve” page, and find out how you can get involved in this important part of church life.
4. BECOME A MEMBER
Once you have spent some time at OCF you may become interested in church membership. Membership is a deep commitment between you, God and the rest of the church family as to your involvement here. We offer membership opportunities on a quarterly basis. During those times, we will walk through the what it means to be a member at OCF. We will also give you a chance to join the church. Don’t take this commitment lightly and please read our membership covenant below:
